Romeo Castellucci's Tragedia Endogonidia (2002-2004) is a unique work made up of eleven episodes, each of which refers to the city after which it is named.
The eleven episodes of Tragedia Endogonidia film cycle were directed by two of Italy's finest artists of the electronic image: Cristiano Carloni and Stefano Franceschetti. In filming each episode the artists' aim was not to create a documentray or a backstage enquiry, but rather to capture the exuberance of senses and images of the performances and then recreate the emotional and perceptional density of the artists at the editing stage.
One of Tragedia Endogonidia episodes – BR.#04 Brussels is presented at the festival's program Contemporary Classics. The film cycle introduces the remaining 10 episodes, giving an opportunity to discover in full one of the greatest works of the last decade in European theatre.
